Kingdom Greetings and Shalom.
Welcome to the SAPC Website. It gave me immense pleasure to meet many of you at the 2022 South Asia Prayer Consultation in Chennai. The letter that follows is from my introductory message…
Our gathering is not a coincidence. I strongly believe it is a divine appointment to come together as Leaders and become a powerful force to break all the strongholds. We are called for such a time as this to pray for our fellowmen and Collaborate and fulfill Great Commission.
From the heights of the mighty Himalayas to the crystal clear waters of beautiful Maldives, the South Asia region is awe-inspiring and heart wrecking. It is the largest concentration of lostness on the earth. South Asia is the birthplace of Hinduism, Sikhism, Buddhism, and Jainism and is the home to more Muslims than any other part of the world.
With more than 1.97 Billions people, about one-fourth of the world's population, making it both the most populous and the most densely populated geographical region in the world. The total Christian presence in South Asia is less than 3% in the whole of this Region. We have a humungous task of reaching more than 1.7 Billionpeople who never heard the good news in this region reaching more than 3650 unreached people groups ( Ethne’s).
The combined effects of religious fanaticism and Changing global socio-political equations have increased the hostility that Christian communities face in South Asia more than ever before.
Afghanistan ranks the most dangerous country for Christians in the world since the Taliban takeover in August 2021, says the annual report by Open Doors International, The rise of radical right-wing sentiment in India, and their Buddhist counterparts in Sri Lanka, the Islam-influenced militias in Pakistan, Strict Sharita law in the Maldives makes the great commission a huge challenge.
As each one of our nations is going through extreme challenges in preaching the gospel, we believe prayer is one of the powerful spiritual weapons to face the unseen challenges and break all barriers and pave way for the Gospel. We are called for such a time as this to pray for our fellowmen around the world, that the Gospel would reach them and they would find hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. As Isaiah 58:12 says, “Your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt; you shall raise the foundations of many generations; you shall be called the repairer of the breach.”. Let us come together, collaborate and work towards building a strong prayer force across the South Asia Region.
The Main Focus of this Consultation
I am excited that you are chosen for this task in this moment of historical revival.
I am reminded of this scripture Isaiah 60:1- Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you.
The LORD will arise over you, Mathew 16;18, says that powers of Hades Shall not prevail against the Church (That is YOU), We are called for such a time like this to intercede and to possess this region for the King of Glory to take HIS rightful place in each of our nations.
I strongly believe our Partnership in raising prayer warriors is going to have a tremendous impact in our times.
I take this opportunity to remember my prayer mentor late Brother PatrickJoshua( Founder of National Prayer Network , India ) for identifying the prayer anointing, Dr John Robb ( IPC Ex Chairman) for his inputs and trust, Dr Jason Hubbard ( Chairman , IPC) my dear friend and colleague in International Prayer Connect for his constant encouragement and support, finally i want to thank my spiritual mom Beverly Tucker for her cry for the lost in the 10/40 Window which inspired me to take up the challenge to reach the 1040 Window.
Last but not the least I want to thank my team in Chennai who tirelessly serve the Lord without any expectations and Brother Prathap and Sister Prasanna for their input for this souvenir and informations.
