Women and children are trafficked heavily with Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal and India acting as the regional hubs.
Human trafficking takes many forms including Bonded Labor, Prostitution, Forced Labor. The exploitation is usually perpetrated by people who are familiar with the victims.
The victims are lured from their families with the promise of jobs, education or marriage.
However, the majority of the time it is a parent or a sibling who sells the victim to human traffickers. Rural and tribal populations are most vulnerable.
